Neurological Physiotherapy
What is Neurological Physiotherapy?
Neurological physiotherapy is the branch of physiotherapy that specialises in the treatment and management of people who have neurological conditions.
This may include conditions such as Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease or spinal cord injury.
Neurological physiotherapy stimulates the brain to form new message pathways, which the brain finds difficult to do with these conditions, through repetitive actions and exercises. Physiotherapists assess these conditions which are essentially disorders of the central nervous system, affecting the brain, nerves and spinal cord.
How Neurological Physiotherapy can help you
If you have had a Stroke, suffer with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, or another neurological condition (for example Bell’s Palsy), you may have a problem with any of the following:

- Tightness of your muscles
- Balance
- Walking

- Bells Palsy

How we can help you
After a full assessment of your problem, we will put together a treatment plan tailor-made to your needs. If you have other requirements we can get in touch with your GP or refer to the appropriate specialist.
The plan will help to:
- Promote and maximise movement
- Improve balance and co-ordination
- Enhance levels of fitness
- Help reduce your fatigue
- Improve your walking pattern and reduce pain
We will assess you and then discuss a treatment plan with you. We recognise that everyone has different goals and we will make sure that your programme of treatment is goal-orientated for you.
If you ore in a wheelchair or have mobility issues, we have fully disabled access and amenities, including toilet facilities.
