Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is the exercising of the body in warm water (37C) in a comfortable way to increase the range of movement of joints and strengthen muscles, thus improving function and reducing pain.
We use the pool at The Leonard Cheshire Home in Charlton Lane on Wednesday afternoon. The pool provides a hoist to assist in getting in and out if steps are a problem. A flowtron jet in the pool allows for increased resistance to exercise or for a massage effect.

There is a maximum of three people in each session, and the physiotherapist is in the pool with you at all times.

    Conditions particularly suited to hydrotherapy are:
