Acupuncture

Acupuncture in this clinic is given principally for pain relief in association with acute/chronic injuries, arthritis and rheumatism, back and neck pain, sports injuries, muscle and joint problems.

Acupuncture is one of a number of treatments that a physiotherapist may offer and there is good evidence for its effectiveness. Very fine (much finer than an injection needle) sterile single use needles are inserted quickly through the skin, this should not be painful, although some people do report experiencing a pinprick or scratch like sensation. The needles can be in place from one to thirty minutes. Acupuncture treatments vary depending on the condition and how you respond, each treatment will be tailor-made to you.

Other conditions that may be helped by acupuncture are headaches, migraine, stress related difficulties, sinusitis and related problems.
