CranioSacral Therapy

What is CranioSacral Therapy?
We are all familiar with the cardiovascular and respiratory system. Like these, the CranioSacral system also influences body function. An imbalance in the system can adversely affect the brain and spinal cord, which can result in sensory, motor and intellectual dysfunction.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands on manipulative therapy that uses bones of the skull, face, vertebrae and sacrum as levers into the membranous structures that surround and partition the brain and spinal cord.

The therapists light hands on approach assists the hydraulic forces inherent in the CranioSacral system to improve the internal environment. Because CST has a vast neurological connection, it will influence motor development, the flow of blood and fluids, endocrine and cranial nerve function and also affect autonomic nervous system. It also softens connective tissue restrictions and holding patterns, easing stress and tension in the body.
